Brazil is a country full of mystery and intrigue. When most
people hear the word Brazil, the tropical rainforest and
exciting Carnaval come to mind. Brazil is a place where you
can enjoy the beauty of nature, as well as the warmth and
energy of its people. Brazil is an urban country and with
this come many social problems. Brazil is perhaps not the
trip for everyone but it's one that you will never forget.
Brazil is populated by approximately 175 million people,
most of which speak Portuguese. This number often surprises
tourists who assume that the majority of Brazil consists of
remote rainforests. While much of the Brazilian rainforest
is still untouched and remote, unfortunately much of it is
being clear-cut. It's a sad fact, but much of the rain
forest and its natural beauty disappear each day.
Brazil like any developing country faces the problem of
poverty. Despite this, it still is a perfect destination to
be visited. Certain areas in Rio de Janeiro are better left
out of your itinerary. You must know where to stay and where
not to. Be aware of the current atmosphere of the places
where you are staying in and avoid places that are unsafe.
Brazil is famous for the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean where
water sports are the main attraction. Ipanema Beach in Rio
de Janeiro is the most well known beach in Brazil. The beach
is flooded with people who wear almost nothing which does
not qualify it as the best family destination, but you will
have fun watching people all the same.
Rio de Janeiro is a wonderful city which you must not miss.
Rio has a wonderful landscape with mountains and islands.
Rio is famous for the sugar loaf mountain and statue of
Christ the Redeemer. The people of Rio enjoy partying up
to the wee hours of the morning. It is a city that is best
visited during the carnival to have oodles of fun.
One excellent day trip to work into your itinerary is the
Amazon rainforest. You will find bird species and plants,
the likes of which you've never seen. You may also stumble
across abandoned Indian river villages. With so much
"progress" going on, tribes have had to relocate deeper
into the Amazon country.
If you want more fun, then visit Jericoacoara. Jericoacoara
is slowly attracting tourists who are mostly back packers.
This fishing village offers one of the best wind surfing
opportunities. If you wanted to get yourself relieved of the
hectic life of the city, then this place offers a calm and
graceful environment for you to relax.
The largest and most popular airport in Brazil is in Rio de
Janeiro. Depending on where you're coming from, there are
other possible destinations for landing. The country is
large, so if you plan to explore you'll probably be booking
some flights on regional airlines. Flying is expensive in
Brazil, so it's a good idea to efficiently organize your
trip in advance. Consider some bus excursions too, since
you'll have a chance to see more of the beautiful
surrounding areas.
Brazil is a fantastic country with one of the finest people
in the world. Though it does have its share of problems, it
is one of the favorite destinations of many travelers and
vacationers due to its mild temperatures and the fun loving
quality of the Brazilians.
