Camping is a great way to take a vacation, just by yourself
or with the whole family. The whole family gets involved
when camping. They kids can help with setting up the tent
or gathering firewood. Plus, it is a inexpensive vacation.
If you don't own any camping gear, it costs about $600 to
grab some and it's only a one-time cost. Then spend about
$200 on food, gas and ice, and you have a low cost
vacation.
There is a ton of stuff to do. Most camp grounds have the
usual, fishing ,hiking, mountain biking. Some even have
swimming and nature programs, while others show outside
movies. Since most camping grounds are secluded, you can
watch the sunset and gaze at the stars.
Here are a few things you need to bring with you, shelter,
sleeping bags, and food. Shelter can be as simple as a tent
or as elaborate as a cabin. It is up to you. You should
always bring a sleeping bag with insulation pads, just in
case. Sleeping bags give you warmth, and insulation pads
add extra comfort.
One last thing is food. If you plan on eating simply, then
a bag of charcoal and hamburger beef will be enough for
you. Most camping grounds will already have a grill there.
You will also need to bring a cooler for drinks and to keep
the meat cold. If you want a regular meal, you can bring a
propane stove, for stove top meals. You can even bring a
Dutch oven for baking.
To make your camping trip smoother, plan a few months ahead
of time. It may not seem like that much goes into a camping
trip, but after just figuring out what to bring, it begins
to be over welling.
Figure out everything you're going to need and write it
down. There's nothing worse then getting to the camping
ground and realize you forgot to pack a tent.
Camping is a fun way to have a cheap vacation for the whole
family. Pick a camp ground with a lot of activities and the
possibilities are endless.
